For over 10 years FIU Relay for Life has helped raise funds for cancer research, patient services, advocacy efforts and preventive education to help and support those that continue their fight against cancer.
So far, this year FIU has raised over $110K to donate to the American Cancer Association.
Throughout the night, organizations, sororities, fraternities, sports teams, and everyone came together not just to have fun, but to show their support to family, friends, and everyone that needs support. By selling food, playing games and sports, or simply asking for donations every team had their tent where they offered their products or services to anyone who was wiling to support.
At the event, AMA, Alpha, and Toastmasters came together and brought Just Dance 2015, FIFA and NBA games for everyone to play. We had everyone from the FIU girls Volleyball and Basketball team to Roary join us for a little dance. After dancing so much we also offered food, including cupcakes, cookies, and some soda and water to get them ready for the next game.
Beautiful Lengths was also at the event for any girls that wished to donate their hair. The AMA’s Director of Special Events Tracy Flores was just one of the hundreds of girls that donated their beautiful locks of hair.
We’d like to extend our gratitude and thank everyone that came to to the event and donated to the organization while having an AMAzing time! Thank you all, and we hope to see you again next year!
