Last week on Wednesday we had our first official meeting of the semester. We were glad to see both old and new faces, not only attending the meeting, but networking with one another. And when it came to separating into their Roaring Concepts groups for the semester, many groups got right to work and started updating themselves on what work they had coming up for the next few months. Our members also heard about Inroads, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to pairing students to Fortune 500 companies. They not only help you get an internship, but they continue working with you throughout college until you get full-time job offers from these companies.
One of our new clients for RC is a local Mexican fast food restaurant just across the street from FIU called Taco Maker. It is also the place where we held our first social, taking advantage of their delicious $1 taco promotion on Wednesdays. Everyone had a chance to continue meeting new people outside the environment of the AMA and RC.
